Prince of Wales Theatre
The refurbishment work Arts Team has undertaken here is the first major overhaul for the Grade II listed theatre since its opening in 1937. The Prince of Wales was designed by Robert Cromie and, apart from minor alterations in 1963 and some unsympathetic modifications to the façades, the building had changed little in 65 years.
Renovation and expansion work included the enlargement of the foyers, the replanning of audience circulation, improvements to the auditorium and to the façades, the redecoration of front and back of house, and new plant installed at roof level.
