Nottingham's Theatre Royal is one of the finest medium scale auditoriums in England. It's columned portico, visible from the market square, is part of C.J. Phipps' original design. We undertook major refurbishment work here, making structural improvements behind the retained façade, reconfiguring the auditorium — keeping the best elements of the Matcham remodelling — and creating new backstage areas.
