London Palladium foyer and bar
We carried out the restoration of the main entrance hall, grand staircase and Cinderella Bar of London's premier variety theatre, the London Palladium. Designed by Frank Matcham, the theatre opened in 1910, on the site previously occupied by the Hengler's Circus building.
Arts Team research revealed that Matcham's rococo plasterwork had been obscured but not completely destroyed by post War additions. It was restored with the aid of tromp l'oeil paintwork. The foyer's original light wells were also reinstated.
